Red Velvet Cake Balls

We needed some additions to Christmas gifts and decided to try and make Red Velvet Cake Balls. I got this idea from Bakerella and you can visit her site to find step-by-step directions on how to make them.

We were studying the book of Luke and the crucifixion of Jesus at church during the holidays so while I was rolling I began to think about the sacrifice. My red hands reminded me of the nail pierced hands of Jesus on the cross and the incredible sacrifice he made that we may know God.


Here's the finished product ready to be wrapped up for Christmas.

I tried these a few weeks later with white cake, butter cream frosting and mini chocolate chips rolled in to the balls. It was good too but not quite as moist as the red velvet. They were all a lot of fun to make!
