Moved in...

We closed on our house on Friday and moved in that evening. We had so much help! Several couples and our teacher from our new Sunday School class helped us along with Steven's family and my brother, sister-in-law, and grandparents. We are extremely blessed to have so much help on both ends of moving. 4 couples from our S.S. class in Auburn helped us pack up and then to have new people that we just met help us...we are so overwhelmed by people's kindness. I just can't say thanks to people enough.

We have unpacked a lot of boxes. The kitchen is set up and all of the stuff has found a home in it's cabinets and drawers. We are working on closets and living room stuff now. The first night in our new home we walked through looking for the smoke detectors and were so surprised to find NONE at all! How crazy!!! We bought three and then my mom told me that the fire department will give you some for free. With two more from the nice firemen we now have a safe home. It's a wonder that a home can be 25 years old and still standing with no smoke alarms. On our second night in the home the power went out at midnight. Our neighborhood is very dark so it was a little eerie. Luckily that had it up again within a few hours.

We are enjoying spending lots of time with our families and friends. It's taking a while to get into a normal routine of life but we're getting there, one day at a time. Now that we've moved Steven only has to drive 20 minutes to work rather than 1 hour. Steven is enjoying his work but I think it will take a while before he feels like he knows what to do. He needs wisdom and discernment to know how to set up the new program that the children's home will be running. We think we've found a church to settle into that is a lot like our church in Auburn but with a younger staff. I am hoping to find a job soon so that we can furnish our home. There is one opportunity that might open up but who knows when, maybe the new year. Pray that God will give me the wisdom to know what to do with my time and possible job.

It's nice to be home but still a little different than before we moved. So many of our friends have gotten married or had children in the year and half that we were gone. And we have never experienced living in Greenville as a married couple. It's interesting trying to figure out how to maintain friendships and manage our time. When we came home from Auburn to visit we usually went separate ways and just saw each other at bedtime since we had so much "us" time in Auburn.

I will try to post some new house pictures soon. Our internet usage is sporadic until I get a job and can get internet so sorry the updates are so few and far between.
